A beautiful destination café in the quieter back streets of Sydney’s Inner West suburb, Ashfield. The café is a result of the partnership of Jimmy Naylor & Anthony Svilicich.
They have a combination of a nice relaxed environment, excellent coffee, (a custom espresso blend supplied by 5 Senses), and a great menu. Highly recommend a visit, and when there, check out the custom matte black “Death Star” Synesso, and their traditionally hand painted sign by Gemma Lockley.

A couple of sneak preview snaps during the setup of newly opened café Excelsior Jones. A beautifully fitted café in Sydney’s Inner West suburb of Ashfield. that I have had the pleasure of photographing. These were taken during setup, so are just a sneak preview. More, ‘proper’ photos to come.
All snaps taken on my fruity portable telecommunications device.

I’ve seen my photos float of the ‘Fiddy’ around the net since I took these and shared them with a friend in 2007. I re-blogged that first image just the other day. I figured it would be best to put them out as a collection together. Had the opportunity to photograph the Panerai ‘Fiddy’ in 2007, very impressive watch, that is a very large piece. 47mm casing, with manual winder and the signature Panerai crown guard. This Panerai was unique in it’s size, and with the large bubble synthetic sapphire crystal that distorts the time markers at the edges ever so slightly, and give it almost an appearance of the acrylic crystals of the past. It has the now obligatory clear synthetic sapphire caseback to reveal the decorated Côtes de Genève movement. I actually think the “E” series that this 127 belongs too had some pretty lazy movement decoration on Panerai’s part, but still looks speccy I guess.
Check out the full size versions on my 500px here.
Taken with a Canon 20D, and the old pre-USM Canon 100mm f2.8 macro.

Coombs Shoe Services in the Strand Arcade, Sydney do fantastic work, in the more traditional way. They also offer great and sound advice on reconditioning or shoes, and general footwear care. Thanks Guido for the referral.

Morning espresso was @samplecoffeebar’s showcase espresso - @cafegrumpy’s Heartbreaker (for today only). I was less than eloquent when Karl asked what I thought of it (the caffeine hadn’t kicked in yet), but it was surprising. It was crisp, with a tart, but pleasant, bite to the flavour. Impressed.
I then followed this up with a latté. I maintain that Reuben and Karl are amazingly talented. Always surprised at the sweetness of their lattés, the amazing texture of the milk, adding to the base layer espresso. Best lattés I’ve ever had, come from Sample Coffee Bar. (if you haven’t tried them, do so.)
